Children have ideas as well.
Working with children in a ceremony is always a delight.
Every child from 3 years on knows what to do!
Over the years I have had the privilege of 'marrying many couples' in the class room.
They always know what to do and say, it is when an adult tries to correct them it all turns upside down.
To a child you just have to get on with it walk up and get married then go off and play.
Adults tell them otherwise, like the people that told a 3 year old to 'walk slowly' and she did!
Dressed in her very best fairy dress, wearing her best smile, she perfected 'slow' to the point of the music having to be played 3 times before the bride arrived.
The wonderful little boy, on seeing his dad emotional at the sight of his beautiful bride, started to cry as he thought he was in trouble or the delightful little boy on having been asked to hold dad & mums rings and not give them to ANYONE, would not pass them to me at any cost.
A conversation I had with a 4 year old "Do you know when you get married you have to change the name of your skin" I did not have the heart to inform her that it may be the brides surname that changes, she was convinced that she was right.
Give them a few instructions, they are very capable of filling in the rest, with a wonderful smile on their face they will go off and tell their friends that they 'got married' at the weekend and wore a fairy dress.
