Theming Your Ceremony
Theming Your Ceremony
If you want a dream wedding, and your wedding is all about colour or a specific theme, then here are some tips I can share with you on what you need to do.
Beach Ceremony
- Use sturdy chairs so they don't topple over in the sand
- Don't use too many chairs as your guests will never hear or see anything from the back row. Use 10 - 14 chairs on each side of the aisle as a guide
- Cover them with white chair covers
- Use a turquoise, blue or gold sash to add dramatic effect
- Add starfish or a frangipani to the back of your chairs to add colour and interest
- Place starfish or frangipanis on your signing table alongside a white pillar candle
- You might like to then have a sand exchange ceremony
- Instead of using red carpet along your aisle you might want to consider the new white vinyl aisle runners which will blend in with your beach colours
- Consider using 2 white Bali type flagpole and flags at the entrance of the aisle
- Use a wedding arch covered in white tuille or organza and frangipanis
Garden Ceremony
- Consider using the American style white fold up chairs
- Set up the chairs in rows slightly curved around the ceremony area - use 3-4 chairs in each row with a maximum of 5 rows on each side
- Tie a white organza white sash to each chair sitting on the aisle side
- Choose one of the flowers you have in your bouquet and add them to the organza sash (on each chair facing out into the aisle)
- Run red carpet up the aisle and sprinkle with rose petals
- Set up topiary trees one each side at the start of the red carpet and the top of the aisle (tie white organza sashes to the trees allowing the ends to hang in the breeze)
- Use a wedding arch covered with draped ivy and white flowers such as gardenias
- Hang a heart shape wreath covered with the same flowers as in your bouquet on a tree in the background
With both types of ceremonies you may want to provide a few hats or parasols for your guests especially if it is a hot day. Provide plenty of cold water and sunscreen for your guests so you are not rushing your guests to the hospital with sunstroke and dehydration.
Lastly always have a BACK UP PLAN (location) in case it RAINS!!!
Make the decision to move to the Back Up Plan no later than 5hrs before your event is due to start so that the decorator and your guests can be notified.
Happy Planning!
